Trichogramma is an insect belonging to the parasitoid family that parasitizes other insects, particularly agricultural pests. This allows Trichogramma to help control and reduce the population and harmful effects of organisms that damage crops. The introduction of Trichogramma into the field enables the management of over 70 different pest species, including cabbage and fall armyworms, meadow and corn borers, apple fruitworms, cabbage whiteflies, and others. The genus Trichogramma includes more than 266 insect species. Today, it is the primary and most widespread biological method of plant protection.

The system allows the Trichogramma spreader to be used for a long time. Dropping a capsule every second the system covers 1 hectare in just 2 minutes, which is approximately equal to 250 hectares in 8 hours of operation.

Integrated communication modules
Trichogramma spreading missions by drone require strong flying skills, but not only. The remote pilot must be able to precisely control the release of the Trichogramma capsules for effective treatment of the plots. For this purpose, the system is equipped with communication, visual, and electronic modules.
Skills and Technology Integration
An LED light allows to check the release of the capsules (flashing) or to indicate when the container is empty (continuous light). Secondly, the system is equipped with counters to check the difference between the capsules requested and the capsules dropped. Finally, the system provides information to the remote pilot in real-time thanks to the onboard electronics (release points, flight path, number of capsules released…) facilitating post-flight reporting.
How does it work?
It does not need to be connected directly to the drone, as it is controlled remotely from the remote control.
  • The remote control display allows you to see the operating status of the spreader (on/off) and the number of capsules dropped.
  • From the remote control, you can program the release of the capsules according to 2 different modes of release, with the timer (every 0.5, 1, 2, or 3 seconds) or with the GPS (every 5, 10, 15, or 20 meters).
  • Finally, the remote control displays the number of satellites received, the strength of the radio signal, the battery level of the remote control, and the onboard battery.

All you need is:
  • Set the flight plan of your drone.
  • Program the capsule release frequency (distance or timer).
  • Trigger the release with the Start/Stop button.
  • Track the number of capsules dropped with the built-in counter.

Thoughtful reliability
To operate the spreading system, you just have to fix it to the drone thanks to different fixing points and then connect it to the drone, to power it (5v) and command the drop. To benefit from the features feedback and arming system, you can also connect 2 additional sockets. Fill up the spreader tank with its 2 hatches and schedule your flight.

The equipment has been assembled in quality materials rigorously selected to meet the constraints of repeated lights and requirements of the remote pilots.
